Computer Simulation of Methamphetamine Drug Addiction: Recidivism of Drug Addict after Treatment Discharge

Abstract:

Předkládaná práce se zaobírá tématem relapsů závislých uživatelů metamfetaminu po ukončení léčby. V teoretické části jsou shrnuty poznatky týkající se problematiky drogových závislostí a její léčby, historie, vlastností a užívání metamfetaminu a relapsy. Součástí práce je model relapsu uživatelů metamfetaminu, který byl vytvořen v počítačovém programu Powersim studio, a který umožňuje dynamickou simulaci daného problému. Poznatky, na jejichž základě byl vytvořen model, byly získány z odborné literatury, dostupných kasuistik a vlastní výzkumnou prací. Byly provedeny rozhovory s uživateli a ex-uživateli metamfetaminu i jiných drog a s odborníky, pracující na poli prevence a léčby drogových závislostí. Součástí výzkumu byla návštěva psychiatrické kliniky v Jemnici, Brně- Černovicích, Hradci králové – Nechanicích a Lipsku. Výzkum byl proveden v rámci kvalitativní metodologie. Nejdůležitějším zjištěním mého výzkumu ve vztahu k aplikovatelnosti počítačového modelu bylo, že relaps je multidimenzionální záležitost a můžeme rozlišit mnoho specifických cest, které k němu vedou.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with relapses of the methamphetamine addicts after treatment discharged. In the theoretical part I sum up the findings of the problematic of drug addiction, its medical treatment, history, characteristics and of the use of methamphetamine and the relapses. An inherent part of the thesis is a relapse model of methamphetamine users which has been created in the computer programme Powersim studio. This model enables a dynamic simulation of the examined problem. It was created with the help of the scientific literature, case studies and own research based on the interviews with the users and ex-users of methamphetamine and other drugs and experts working in the area of prevention and medical treatment of drug addiction. An Inherent part of the research was visit of psychiatric hospitals in Jemnice, Brno - Černovice, Hradec Králové - Nechanice and Leipzig. The research was done within the framework of the qualitative methodology. The most important conclusion of my research is in relation with applicability of computer model, that relapse is multi-factorial problem. We can different many specific ways which can lead to relapse.
