Burnout among speech therapists in the South Moravian region

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce pojednává o syndromu vyhoření u klinických logopedů pracujících v Jihomoravském kraji. Cílem práce bylo zjistit, jaký stupeň celkového vyčerpání tito pracovníci zažívají a jaké faktory působící v pracovním prostředí pro ně mohou znamenat zátěž. Sběr dat byl uskutečněn prostřednictvím dotazníku vytvořeného v aplikaci Google Forms, který se skládal ze tří částí. Využita byla metoda nedokončených vět v kombinaci s dotazníkem Burnout Measure od Ayaly Pinesové a Elliotta Aronsona, který zjišťuje celkové vyčerpání. Poslední část dotazníku tvořilo několik doplňujících otázek zaměřených na věk respondentů, délku jejich praxe, věkovou kategorii klientů a počet pracovišť, na kterých logoped dosud pracoval. Bylo zjištěno, že ačkoli nebyla přítomnost syndromu vyhoření ani u jednoho ze zúčastněných prokázána, působí v jejich pracovním prostředí vlivy, které mohou pro tyto pracovníky znamenat zátěž. Tyto faktory byly rozděleny do kategorií: administrativní zátěž, finance, čas, klienti, rodiče, zpětná vazba, prostředí, pohled veřejnosti, vysoké požadavky a mezioborová spolupráce. Dále bylo zjištěno, že významnou roli mohou hrát také vnitřní faktory.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with burnout among speech therapists in the South Moravian region. The aim of this study was to find out the degree of their exhaustion and factors in the work environment which can cause them a ballast. Data collection was realized through a questionnaire which was created in the Google Forms application and consisted of three parts. The incomplete sentence method was combined with Burnout Measure which was created by Ayala Pines and Elliott Aronson and which finds out the exhaustion. The last part of the questionnaire consisted of several supplementary questions focused on the age of speech therapists, the length of their career, the age of clients and the number of workplaces where the speech therapist have worked. It was found out that none of the respondents suffer from burnout, but in their work environment there are some factors which can cause them a ballast. These resources of the ballast were divided into categories: paperwork, finances, time, clients, parents, feedback, environment, public opinion, high requirements and interdisciplinary cooperation. It was found out that very important role can play internal factors too.
