Use of meal from damselfly larvae in the nutrition of fattened chickens

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá charakteristikou odtučněné moučky z larev mouchy bráněnky domácí (Hermetia illucens), její výživovou hodnotou a vhodností zařazení do krmné diety u vykrmovaných brojlerů, konverzí krmiva, hmotnostními přírůstky, morfometrií trávicího traktu a výtěžností hlavních masitých částí jatečně upraveného těla. Do pokusu byla zařazena jednodenní kuřata Ross 308 od firmy Aviagen v celkovém počtu 240 kohoutů, kteří byli následně rozděleni do tří experimentálních skupin ve čtyřech opakování: kontrolní, BSFL13/BSFL26 a BSFL2/BSFL5. Kuřata byla v průběhu experimentu krmena ad libitum třemi krmnými směsmi. Experiment trval od 1. do 37. dne věku kuřat. Během pokusu se zaznamenávala hmotnost kuřat, příjem krmiva, konverze krmiva, výtěžnost jatečného upraveného těla a viskozita tráveniny. Zkrmování pokusných diet mělo za následek, že pokusná skupina BSFL26/BSFL5 dosahovala menšího příjmu krmiva, horší konverze a menší živé hmotnosti v průběhu i na konci pokusu oproti kontrolní skupině a pokusné skupině BSFL13/BSFL2. Výtěžnost hlavních masitých částí nebyla významně ovlivněna (P>0,05) ani v jedné z experimentálních skupin kuřat. Stejně tak ani v parametru viskozity tráveniny nebyly zjištěny významné rozdíly. Došli jsme k výsledkům, že průměrné živé hmotnosti byly od přechodu z krmné směsi BR1 na BR2 ovlivněny startérovým obdobím výkrmu, kdy se do pokusné skupiny BSFL26/BSFL5 zařadil vyšší podíl moučky z larev mouchy bráněnky domácí než u pokusné skupiny BSFL13/BSFL2 a skupiny kontrolní. Nebyl zjištěn negativní vliv zařazení podílu moučky z larev bráněnky domácí na užitkové parametry u vykrmované drůbeže.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the characteristics of defatted meal from the larvae of the house fly (Hermetia illucens), its nutritional value and suitability for inclusion in the diet of fattened broilers, feed conversion, weight gain, morphometry of the digestive tract and yield in the main fleshy parts of the carcass. One-day-old Ross 308 chickens from Aviagen were included in the experiment in a total number of 240 roosters, which were subsequently divided into three experimental groups in four repetitions: control, BSFL13/BSFL26 and BSFL2/BSFL5. During the experiment, they were fed ad libitum with three feed mixtures. The experiment lasted from day 1 to day 37 of the chicks' age. During the experiment, the following observations were recorded: chicken weight, feed intake, feed conversion, carcass yield and digestate viscosity. Feeding the experimental diets resulted in the BSFL26/BSFL5 experimental group achieving lower feed intake, poorer conversion and lower live weight during and at the end of the experiment compared to the control and the BSFL13/2 experimental groups. The yield of the main fleshy parts was not significantly affected (P>0.05) in any of the experimental groups of chickens. Similarly, no significant differences were found in the digestate viscosity parameter. We came to the following conclusion: the average live weights were affected by the starter fattening period since the switch from BR1 to BR2, when a higher proportion of housefly larvae meal was included in the experimental group BSFL26/BSFL5 than in the experimental group BSFL13/BSFL2 and the control group. No demonstrable negative effect of the inclusion of the meal from the larvae of the house damselfly on the performance parameters of the fattened poultry was found.
