Abstract:

Okolnosti výzkumu: Cílem studie bylo prozkoumat výpovědi participantů o své životní spokojenosti a zjistit, zda li rodiče, kteří prožili onemocnění svého dítěte, vidí na celé události nějaké pozitivní stránky. Do výzkumu se celkem zapojilo 196 rodin. Testovou baterii vyplnilo celkem 173 participantů (23 baterii nevyplnilo). Testování proběhlo na půdě Kliniky Dětské Onkologie (KDO) v Dětské nemocnici – Fakultní nemocnici Brno. Sbírání dotazníků probíhalo v letech 2006-2010 při příležitosti kontrolního lékařského vyšetření dětí. Metody: Tato studie byla součástí longitudinálního výzkumného projektu QOLOP. Použitou výzkumnou metodou byl Dotazník zdraví a spokojenosti, speciálně vytvořený pro účely tohoto výzkumného projektu. Instrukce zněla: „Onemocnění dítěte vždy významným způsobem zasáhne do života rodičů i ostatních členů rodiny. Zamyslete se, prosím, nad tím, zda a jak onemocnění Vašeho dítěte ovlivnilo a změnilo Váš život v níže uvedených oblastech: manželství a vztah s partnerem, intimní život, vztahy s druhými lidmi, práce a zaměstnání, výhledy a plány do budoucna, hodnota a víra, vztah k vlastním dětem, vlastní zdravotní stav, volný čas a zájmy, jiné (respondenti mohli uvést další oblast života). Pokuste se popsat, co Vám přinesli změny v těchto oblastech života dobrého a špatného.“ Výsledky: Snažili jsme se zjistit, zda li rodiče vidí nějaká pozitiva na onemocnění jejich dítěte. Většině z participantů tato těžká životní situace přinesla pozitivní změny v některých oblastech jejich života. Téměr každý z respondentů uvedl nějaké pozitivní změny v nynějším životě. Závěr: Naše práce by měla sloužit nejenom odborníkům, ale i rodinám samotným. Informace naší práce mohou sloužit i osobám s jinými onemocněními, které přináší dlouhodobé následky.

Abstract:

Background: The objectives of the study were to explore a self-report measure for psychological well-being and find out if parents can feel any positive sides of their child´s disease. Across the 196 cancer survivors families, data were collected from 173 participants (23 of the participants did not fill the test battery). Testing took place at the Clinic of Pediatric Oncology (KDO) at the University Children’s Hospital in Brno. Questionnaire method of data collection was conducted in 2006 - 2010 on the occasion of a control medical examination of children. Methods: This study was part of a longitudinal research project QOLOP. As a research method was used a Questionnaire of Health and Well-being, specially created for the purpose of research project. Respondents were asked: “The child´s disease always significatntly affects the life of parents and other family members. Please think about whether and how your child´s disease has influenced and changed your life in the following areas: marriage and relationship with your spouse, intimate life, realtionships with others, labor and employment, prospects and future plans, values and beliefs, the relationship to their own children, their own health, leisure and interests, other (possible indication of other areas). Try to describe positive and negative changes of these areas of life.” Results: We tried to find out if parents can feel any positive sides on child´s disease. Mostly this stressfull life situation did bring positive changes in some area of individual´s life. Almost each of our participants mentioned some positives that can experience in a current life. Conclusions: Our thesis should serve not only as an overview of the practical experience of parents´cancer survivours for the experts from a psychological or medical environment, but should also serve the families themselves – parents, their descendants and extended family. Such information can be used not only for parents´cancer survivours, but also for women with breast cancer, those with serious diseases, also for people after some other injury, infection etc. that brings lifelong consequences or any disabilities.
