Space orientation at the children in kindergartens

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma "Prostorová orientace u dětí v mateřské škole" sestává ze tří částí teoretické, metodologické a experimentální. Část teoretická se zaměřuje na předškolní období a jeho vývojová specifika, předmatematickou výchovu a její cíle, prostorovou inteligenci, prostorovou orientaci, tělesné schéma a orientaci na vlastním těle, pravolevou orientaci, prostorovou paměť, transformace z 2D do 3D a naopak a na důsledky oslabení vnímání prostoru u dětí před zahájením povinné školní docházky. Metodologická část stanovuje cíle experimentu, definuje použité metody, podmínky a terminologii experimentu. Její součástí je i příprava a zadání experimentu včetně kritérií hodnocení výsledků experimentu. V experimentální části je zaznamenán průběh experimentu, který byl prováděn s celkovým počtem deseti dětí ze dvou mateřských škol, které se liší velikostí i prostředím, v němž se nachází. Prostřednictvím osmi aktivit, na kterých byl experiment založen, byla zjišťována míra úspěšnosti dětí při řešení úloh zaměřených na různé složky prostorové inteligence a orientace. Vyhodnocení výsledků bylo provedeno podle předem stanovených kritérií. Experimentem byla zjištěna celková úspěšnost při řešení daných úloh 77,5 %. Porovnáním výsledků dětí z obou škol bylo zjištěno, že děti navštěvující věkově smíšenou třídu ve venkovské mateřské škole byly při řešení úspěšnější o 5 % než děti, které chodí do třídy předškoláků ve velké mateřské škole v krajském městě.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis on the topic "Space orientation at the children in kindergartens" consists of three parts : theoretical, methodological and experimental. The theoretical part focuses on pre-school time and its development specifics, pre-maths education and its aims, space orientation, space intelligence, a body diagram and own body orientation, right-left orientation, space memory, 2D to 3D transformation and vice versa and the consequences of weakened space perception at children before the beginning of compulsory school attendance. The methodological part determines the aims of the experiment, defines used methods, conditions and the terminology of the experiment. A part of this is also the preparation and assignment of the experiment including the evaluation criteria of the experiment results. In the experimental part the experimental process is recorded. It was conducted with ten children in two kindergartens which differ in size and surroundings as well. The experiment is based on eight activities which show the level of the children's success in solving the tasks focused on different constituent parts of space intelligence and orientation. The evaluation of the results was done according to the criteria prepared in advance. The level of success during solving the experiment tasks was 77, 5 per cent. Comparing both kindergartens' results it was found out that the children attending an age-mixed class in the village kindergarten were 5 per cent more successful in the task solving than those ones attending the pre-school preparation class in the big regional city kindergarten.
