Use of suball in occupational therapy for patients with fractures of distal forearm

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce popisuje využití Sunballu v ergoterapii u pacientů po frakturách distálního předloktí. Práce obsahuje teoretické poznatky o anatomii a kineziologii předloktí a ruky, o frakturách distálního předloktí, jejich mechanismy úrazu, poznatky o klasifikaci, diagnostice, možné komplikace a v neposlední řadě jejich léčbě. V práci jsou také zmíněny poznatky o roboticky vedené terapii, kde je krátce popsaná ergoterapie a terapie v ergoterapii. Dále se zaměřuje na biofeedback, využití virtuální reality v rehabilitaci, a nakonec stručně zhodnotí další interaktivní pomůcky využitelné na horní končetinu. Na závěr teoretické části je popsán samotný Sunball. Praktická část se zabývá ergoterapeutickou intervencí rozšířenou o interaktivní pomůcku Sunball u pacientky s frakturou distálního radia. Během terapií se zjišťovala využitelnost Sunballu u traumatologické a ortopedické problematiky v oblasti předloktí a ruky. Cílem práce bylo zpracování brožury jakožto praktické využití Sunballu u této problematiky. Z kazuistiky je patrný pozitivní vliv Sunballu v terapii horní končetiny a úchopů.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis describes the use of Sunball in Occupational therapy on patients with fractures of distal forearm. Thesis contains information regarding the anatomy and kinesiology of the forearm, fractures of distal forearm, the mechanisms of its injury, information of the classification, diagnostics, possible complications and of course its treatment. Information regarding robotically guided therapy, where occupational therapy is shortly depicted. Next the thesis is focused on biofeedback, the use of virtual reality in rehabilitation and finally, brief evaluation of sone additional interactive aids which are suitable for use on arm. The Sunball is depicted at the end of the theoretical section of the thesis. The experimental part of this thesis is focused on the intervention of occupational therapy expanded by the Sunball aid on patients with a distal forearm fracture. The usage of Sunball in traumatological and orthopaedical problematic regarding the throughout the therapy of forearm. A positive effect of Sunball in forearm and grip is evident in the case study.
