Spa treatment of obesity in children

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou lázeňské léčby obezity u dětí. Práce má část teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části je popsána obezita jako onemocnění, její diagnostika, léčba a komplikace. Nedílnou a velmi důležitou součástí je prevence obezity u dětí. Lázeňská léčba je vhodným způsobem, jak odstranit původní nevhodné stravovací a pohybové návyky obézních dětí a nastavit nová pravidla zdravého životního stylu. Zároveň je popsán konkrétní léčebný plán u dětských pacientů ve společnosti Lázně Luhačovice, a.s., konkrétně v dětské léčebně Miramonti. V praktické části byly k výzkumu použity informace z archivu dětské léčebny Miramonti a hlavní výzkumný soubor tvoří výběr šesti respondentů, léčených ve stejné léčebně v roce 2016. V rámci výzkumného šetření je hlavním cílem této práce zjistit, v čem konkrétně byla lázeňská léčba obezity pro děti přínosem. Dílčími cíli je zjistit, jaké mají děti vědomosti o obezitě a zdravotních rizicích s ní spojených, jaké mají vědomosti o redukční dietě, jak se stravovaly před odjezdem do lázní, jaký je životní styl takto nemocných dětí a jaký je rozdíl ve vnímání tohoto onemocnění mezi chlapci a děvčaty. V práci jsou interpretovány rozhovory s respondenty a následně vyhodnoceny dle stanovených cílů. Závěrem diplomová práce poukazuje na stále nedostatečnou informovanost dětí o obezitě, neznalost konkrétních komplikací, které může obezita způsobit a podceňování tohoto onemocnění dětmi i jejich rodiči a na nezdravý životní styl dětí. Problém prevence a léčby dětské obezity a edukace dětí i jejich rodičů je tedy stále aktuální.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the problems of spa treatment of obesity in children. Thesis has theoretical and practical part. In the theoretical part is described obesity as a disease, its diagnosis, treatment and complications. An integral and very important part is prevention of obesity in children. Spa treatment is a suitable way to delete an initial improper eating and movement habits of obese children and set new rules for a healthy lifestyle. It is also desribed a specific treatment plan for peadiatric patients in Lázně Luhačovice, a.s, specifically in pediatric hospital Miramonti. In practical part of this thesis were used information from the archive of the pediatric hospital Miramonti and the main research group consist of six children, treated in the same hospital in 2016. Within the framework of the research the main aim of this thsis to find out, in what specifically was benefit of the spa treatment. Partial goals are to find out, what are the knowledge of children about obesity, and health risks, they are associated with it, what are the knowledge of a diet, how ate they before leaving in the spa, what is the lifestyle of like this sick children and what is the difference in perception of this disease among boys and girls. Interviews with respondents are interpreted in the thesis and then evaluated according to established goals. In the conclusion of the diploma thesis highlights, the still insufficient awareness of children about obesity, ignorance of specific complications that obesity can cause and underestimation of this disease by children and their parents and the unhealthy lifestyle of children. The problem of prevention and treatment of childhood obesity and the education of children and their parents is therefore up to date.
