Increasing the retention capacity of the landscape in the context of the production function of grassland ecosystems

Abstract:

Předložená diplomová práce se zabývá zvyšováním retenční schopnosti krajiny v kontextu produkční funkce travních ekosystémů. Ve své práci se zaměřím na globální změny planety v širším měřítku, v Evropě i České republice, jelikož právě tyto změny zásadním způsobem mění život na naší planetě. Nastíním klimatický systém Země a příčiny nestálosti klimatu, které ovlivňují retenci krajiny. Zhodnotím evropskou krajinu a její schopnost v současných socioekonomických podmínkách. Uvedu, které faktory působí na krajinu, proč a jak se krajina mění z pohledu krajinotvorných pochodů socioekonomického původu. Vymezím hlavní příčiny snižování retenční schopnosti krajiny. Podrobně popíši nápravná opatření včetně střetů zájmů při jejich realizaci. Uvedu příklady těchto opatření, která se používají v České republice. Popíši strukturu nástrojů, které se využívají v České republice na zvyšování retenční schopnosti krajiny především zaměřených na travní ekosystémy. Popíši relevantní dotační tituly, které se využívají v České republice při jejich realizaci. Zmapuji vybraná území, která využívají dotační tituly z pohledu zásobovacích, podpůrných, regulačních a kulturních ekosystémových služeb. Představím několik farem a lokalit, které využívají dotací při změně hospodaření. Zaměřím se i na farmy, které se zapojily do programů nebo se chystají zapojit a navrhnu na vybrané farmě možnosti využití dotací s návrhem řešení. Zhodnotím produkci biomasy trvalých travních porostů před a po realizaci krajinotvorných opatření a její využití v bioplynových stanicích, popíši funkci těchto stanic a jejich přínos pro společnost.

Abstract:

The presented thesis deals with increasing the retention capacity of the landscape in the context of the production function of grassland ecosystems. In my thesis I will focus on global changes of the planet on a broader scale, in Europe and the Czech Republic, as these changes are fundamentally changing life on our planet. I will outline the Earth's climate system and the causes of climate variability that affect landscape retention. I will assess the European landscape and its capacity in the current socio-economic conditions. I will indicate which factors affect the landscape, why and how the landscape is changing in terms of landscape processes of socio-economic origin. I will outline the main causes of the reduction of the landscape's retention capacity. I will describe in detail the remedial measures, including conflicts of interest in their implementation. I will give examples of these measures used in the Czech Republic. I will describe the structure of the instruments used in the Czech Republic to increase the retention capacity of the landscape, mainly targeting grassland ecosystems. I will describe the relevant subsidy titles used in the Czech Republic for their implementation. I will map selected areas that use subsidy titles in terms of supply, support, regulation and cultural ecosystem services. I will present several farms and sites that are using subsidies in their management change. I will also focus on farms that have participated in programs or are planning to participate and will propose options for using subsidies on a selected farm with suggested solutions. I will evaluate the biomass production of permanent grasslands before and after the re-implementation of landscape measures and its use in biogas plants, describing the function of these plants and their benefits for society.
