Important Aspects of Creditworthiness Analysis when Asking for a Loan

Abstract:

This diploma work is divided into 4 sections. In the first part we summarize the basic knowledge about the financial market, banking system and the credit. Definition of the credit, its function, classification, definition of the bank risks with focus on the credit risks constitute the main part of this section. In the second and third section we determine the aim of the diploma work and methodology. In the fourth, final part we apply the theoretical knowledge on a case study of specific bank. First, we shortly describe the OTP Bank Slovakia and its offer of credit products designed for business subjects. Then we characterize an anonymous company applying for a credit of 60 000,- € for the reconstruction of accommodation premises. We focus on the whole process of the lease-lend from the bank point of view. Perception and assessment of the client and the momentum when the bank decides to approve the credit are our main points of interest. The data were collected from company`s statement of finances for 2008, 2009, 2010. Additionally, in chapter 4.4 we outline the important aspects of client creditworthiness. In chapter 4.5 we analyse the impact of economic crisis on the conditions of credit provisioning.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca je rozdelená na 4. časti. V prvej časti sú vysvetlené základné poznatky o finančnom trhu, o bankovej sústave a o úvere. Veľmi dôležité miesto má vymedzenie úveru, jeho funkcie, členenie úverov a bankové riziko so zameraním sa na úverové riziko. V druhej a tretej časti je stanovený cieľ a metodika práce. Posledná, 4 časť práce obsahuje praktickú časť práce. Na začiatku stručne charakterizujeme konkrétnu banku – OTP banka Slovensko, a. s., a jej úverové produkty poskytnuté pre podnikateľov. Nasleduje charakteristika anonymnej firmy, ktorá si žiada úver v hodnote 60 000,- € na rekonštrukciu ubytovní. Podrobne venujeme pozornosť celému priebehu poskytnutia úveru z pohľadu banky (potrebné dáta som získala z účtovných závierok analyzovanej firmy 2008, 2009, 2010) – ako vníma klienta a kedy nastáva ten moment, kde banka vyjadrí súhlas s poskytnutím úveru. V kapitole 4.4 sú vymedzené dôležité aspekty analýzy bonity klienta pri žiadosti o úver a v kapitole 4.5 na základe analýzy skúmame vplyv krízy na poskytovanie úverov a zmenu podmienok poskytovania úverov.
