Změny ve struktuře obyvatelstva a jejich dopad na trh práce v Evropě

Abstract:

V posledních desetiletích se struktura obyvatelstva v Evropě mění. Tyto změny mají za následek změnu složení a struktury trhu práce v Evropě. Trh práce má zásadní význam pro ekonomický rozvoj a živobytí pracovníků a jejich rodin, proto je důležité porozumět faktorům, které trh práce ovlivňují. Cílem této práce bylo zjistit, jaký vliv má měnící se struktura obyvatelstva na trh práce v Evropě. Závislá proměnná trh práce byla indikována pomocí míry zaměstnanosti. Nezávislé proměnné zahrnovaly úroveň vzdělání, hustotu zalidnění, stárnutí populace, počet pracujících žen, čistou migraci a úhrnnou porodnost. Do práce byly zahrnuty makroekonomické proměnné, které zahrnovaly vládní výdaje na vzdělávání, příjmy a inflaci, protože ovlivňují trh práce. Zkoumané období zahrnovalo roky 1990 až 2022. Data byla analyzována pomocí autoregresního modelu rozdělených zpoždění. Regresní model vyžaduje, aby proměnné byly stacionární na úrovni nebo na úrovni první diference. Účast žen na trhu práce, čistá migrace a vládní výdaje nebyly stacionární na úrovni nebo na prvním rozdílu, a proto nebyly do regrese zahrnuty. Výsledky regrese ukazují, že rychlost přizpůsobení dlouhodobé rovnovážné úrovni je -2,7327 ročně. V krátkém období mají vzdělání, stárnutí a inflace záporný a významný vliv na trh práce, vliv hustoty obyvatelstva byl zjištěn jako kladný a statisticky významný, zatímco porodnost měla v krátkém období nevýznamný vliv na trh práce. V dlouhodobém horizontu byly zjištěny negativní a statisticky významné účinky vzdělání, hustoty obyvatelstva a inflace, zatímco účinky stárnutí, porodnosti a příjmu byly zjištěny jako pozitivní a statisticky významné.

Abstract:

Over the last few decades, the population structure of Europe has been changing. These changes have the effect of changing the composition and structure of the labour market in Europe. The labour market is critical for the economic development and livelihoods of worker and their families, thus it is important to understand the factors that affect the labour market. The objective of the thesis was to determine the effect of the changing population structure on the labour market in Europe. The dependent variable labour market was indicated using the employment rate. The independent variables included the education level, population density, the ageing population, female workers, net migration, and total fertility. In the thesis macroeconomic variables which included government expenditure on education, income and inflation were included because they impact the labour market. The study period covered 1990 – 2022. The data was analysed using the autoregressive distributed lag model. The regression model requires variables to be stationary at the level or first difference. Female workers’ participation in the labour market, net migration and government expenditure were not stationary at levels of the first difference and were thus not included in the regression. The regression results show that the speed of adjustment to the long run equilibrium level is - 2.7327 per annum. In the short run education, ageing and inflation had negative and significant effects on the labour market, the effect of population density was found to be positive and statistically significant while fertility was found to have an insignificant effect on the labour market in the short run. In the long run, the effects of education, population density and inflation were found to be negative and statistically significant while the effects of ageing, fertility and income were found to be positive and statistically significant.
