Disturbance and Climate Change in Tree Rings - Quantitative Analysis of Cell Parameters of Woody Plants.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá především dendrochronologii a jejím širokém využití na poli vědecké působnosti, kde je zejména předmětem zájmu struktura letokruhů dřevin. Letokruhy totiž mají schopnost poskytnout proxy data o klimatických a environmentálních podmínkách minulosti, které se získávají díky dendrochronologickým metodám a analýze vzorků dřevin na základě anatomických parametrů. Tyto parametry ovlivňují především disturbance způsobené klimatickými faktory. Nejzásadnějšími klimatickými faktory pro růst dřeva jsou teplota, srážky, sucho, oblačnost, vlhkost a síla větru. V rámci bakalářské práce bude také představena pyrenejská dřevina, na které budou aplikovány vybrané dendrochronologické metody, a která poslouží k lepšímu porozumění růstu pyrenejských dřevin v podmínkách měnícího se klimatu, které je nejvýraznější právě ve vysokých nadmořských výškách.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals mainly with dendrochronology and its wide use in the field of scientific activity, where the structure of tree rings is of particular interest. The annual rings have the ability to provide proxy data on the climatic and environmental conditions of the past, which are obtained through dendrochronological methods and analysis of tree samples based on anatomical parameters. These parameters mainly affect disturbances caused by climatic factors. The most fundamental climatic factors for wood growth are temperature, precipitation, drought, cloud cover, humidity and wind strength. The bachelor's thesis will also introduce the Pyrenean tree species, to which selected dendrochronological methods will be applied, and which will serve to better understand the growth of Pyrenean tree species in a changing climate, which is most pronounced at high altitudes.
