Education of seniors in the Chomutov region before and during measures related to the Covid-19

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou stáří a stárnutí v kontextu uspokojování vyšších potřeb a sociální potřebnosti. Stáří je pro celou řadu jedinců obdobím frustrujícím, kdy se senioři cítí nepotřebnými a společensky "odstrkovanými". Dále se práce zabývá nabídkou a možnostmi vzdělávání seniorů ve 21. století a také motivy a motivačními faktory, které jejich rozhodnutí a konání do značné míry ovlivňují. Jsou zde také prezentovány kapitoly zabývající se možnostmi, jež v edukačním prostředí nabízejí seniorům možnosti rozvoje počítačové a technické gramotnosti. Využití moderní techniky je v současné edukační realitě jedním z elementárních faktorů úspěšnosti edukačního procesu a je také jedním z klíčových edukačních konstruktů, které pozitivním způsobem ovlivňují vzdělávání seniorů například na univerzitách třetího věku. V metodologické části se pak tato bakalářská práce zaměřuje na dotazníkový průzkum, jehož prostřednictvím jsou zjišťována validní a reliabilní data týkající se motivace seniorů k vlastnímu vzdělávání a také aspekty, jež toto vzdělávání významným způsobem ovlivňují. Vzorek respondentů se skládá výhradně z jedinců seniorského věku bez rozdílu pohlaví, sociálních poměrů či multikulturních a interkulturních aspektů. Primárním cílem průzkumu je za pomoci dotazníkové metody zjistit, jaké motivy vedou seniory k dalšímu vzdělávání, sekundárním cílem je zjistit, zda respondenti během roku 2020, tedy v době pandemie nemoci Covid-19, využívali při vzdělávání IT technologie. Terciárním, tedy posledním cílem práce je pak zjištění, jaké byly nejčastější aspekty, jež ztěžovaly respondentům vzdělávání právě v době zmíněné pandemie.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with an issue of old age and ageing in a context of fulfilling higher needs and social needs. Old age is a frustrating period for many individuals, when the seniors feel useless and socially being "left behind". Furthermore it deals with an offer and possibilities of seniors´ education in 21st century as well as with themes and motivational factors that influence their decisions and activities to a considerable extend. The thesis also presents chapters dealing with those possibilities that offer the seniors possibilities of computer and technological literacy in educational environment. The use of modern technology is one of elementary factors of a successful educational process in a current educational reality and it is also one of the key educational constructs that influence positively seniors´ education for example at universities of the third age. The methodological part of the bachelor thesis is aimed at questionnaire research through which valid and reliable data are obtained, concerning seniors´ motivation for their own education, as well as those aspects that influence their education significantly. The sample of respondents contains specially individuals of senior age without any differences in gender, social background or multicultural or intercultural aspects. The primary aim of the research is to reveal through a questionnaire method what aspects lead the seniors towards further education; the secondary aim is to find out if the respondents used the IT technology during their education in 2020, which means during the Covid-19 pandemic. The tertiary and the last aim of the thesis is a detection of which were the most frequent aspects that made the respondents´ education difficult during the mentioned pandemic.
