Lifelong learning of librarians through information technology

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá problematikou celoživotního vzdělávání akademických knihovníků. V dnešní informatizované společnosti je většina informací dostupná prostřednictvím informačních technologií. V tomto prostředí stále probíhají změny, stále se objevují nové nástroje, trendy a možnosti. Pro knihovníka je proto nutností neustálá práce na svých znalostech a kompetencích, aby mohl dobře plnit svou funkci informačního profesionála a být platným průvodcem pro své uživatele ve světě informací. Práce zkoumá motivy knihovníků, které je vedou ke stálé práci na svém vzdělávání a podmínky, které pro toto vzdělávání mají. Zda a jaké pociťují bariéry. Jaké nástroje ke svému vzdělávání nejčastěji používají a proč jim vyhovují. Co ke svému vzdělávání postrádají. Práce se také zaměřuje na možné bariéry knihovníků ve vztahu ke svým kolegům a uživatelům z hlediska odlišnosti práce s informacemi v souvislosti s příslušností ke generaci digitálních domorodců nebo digitálních imigrantů.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the issue of lifelong learning of academic librarians. In today's computerized company, most information is available through information technology. Changes are still underway in this environment, new tools are still emerging. For the librarian, it is therefore necessary to constantly work on their knowledge and competencies so that he can perform well as an information professional and be a valid guide for their users in the world of information. The thesis examines the motives of librarians, which lead them to the constant work on their education, the conditions they have for this education. Whether and how they feel the barriers, what tools they use most often for their education, and why they are comfortable with what they lack in their education. The work also focuses on the possible barriers of librarians in relation to their colleagues and users in terms of the difference of work with information depending on belonging to the generation of digital natives or digital immigrants.
