The topic of this thesis is a comparison between catachresis and phraseological modification. Both terms share the trait of being used to describe certain conspicuities in language use. The aim of this paper is to identify how catachresis and phraseological modification can overlap in text units. Tématem této práce je porovnání katachréze s frazeologickou modifikací. Oba termíny se shodně používají pro popis určitých specifických jazykových jevů.
