Abstract:

V posledních letech se výzkum cizích jazyků postupně posunul z pohledu učitelů na studenty. Výzkumy ukazují, že v procesu výuky cizích jazyků jsou individuální rozdíly mezi jednotlivými studenty jedním z klíčových faktorů, které by mohly mít velký vliv na úspěch ve třídě. Jako důležitá součást individuálních rozdílů studentů přitahují styly vjemového učení stále více pozornosti učitelů cizích jazyků a výzkumných pracovníků. Na základě obecných předmětů středních škol z České republiky a Čínské lidové republiky se práce zabývá jejich preferencemi ve stylu percepčního učení. První dva cíle výzkumu jsou identifikace preferencí percepčního učení českých subjektů a čínských předmětů. Předpokládá se, že podobnosti a rozdíly mezi subjekty z těchto dvou zemí budou uzavřeny. A konečně, tato práce si také klade za cíl učinit relativní návrhy, jak aplikovat výsledky výzkumu do výuky cizích jazyků a výuky. V této práci je celkem šest kapitol. První kapitola začíná úvodem, cíli, významem a strukturou tohoto výzkumu. V druhé kapitole je uveden přehled literatury, který zahrnuje teorii stylu vnímání a související teoretickou podporu. Třetí kapitola porovnává kulturní prostředí a vzdělávací systémy mezi Českou republikou a Čínskou lidovou republikou. Čtvrtá kapitola se zabývá výzkumnými účely, otázkami, metodami a postupy sběru dat. Výsledky a diskuse o komparativním výzkumu jsou uvedeny v páté kapitole. Šestá kapitola uzavírá celou práci a navrhuje pokyny pro další studium v ​​této oblasti. Výsledky ukazují, že z hlediska preferencí ve vnímání stylu učení existují podobnosti a rozdíly u subjektů z různých kulturních prostředí. Jak české, tak čínské předměty vykazují řadu preferencí v percepčním učení. Většina českých a čínských účastníků si vybírá styl sluchového učení jako svůj hlavní styl učení a styl vizuálního učení jako jejich menší. Nejzřetelnějším rozdílem mezi subjekty z těchto dvou zemí je však to, že více českých studentů preferuje práci individuálně, zatímco více čínských studentů si užívá práce s ostatními. Tyto výsledky jsou v souladu s teorií kulturních dimenzí Hofstede. Na základě výsledků a diskusí o práci jsou učitelé a žáci cizích jazyků povzbuzováni k tomu, aby si uvědomili zásadní význam preferencí stylu vnímání. Doporučuje se také přizpůsobit učební styl učitelů stylům učení se studentům. Aby se vytvořila harmonie mezi učiteli a studenty ve třídě cizích jazyků, mohli by učitelé poskytnout studentům různé učební materiály nebo rozdělit studenty do různých skupin podle svých preferencí a studenti by měli být také vybízeni k tomu, aby aktivně přizpůsobili své studijní preference svým učitelským stylům. .

Abstract:

In recent years, the focus of the foreign language learning research has been gradually shifted from the perspective of teachers to students. And researches show that in the process of foreign language learning, individual differences among different students is one of the key factors which could have a great influence on the success in class. As an important component of students’ individual differences, perceptual learning styles has attracted more and more attention from foreign language teachers and researchers. Based upon the general secondary school subjects from the Czech Republic and People’s Republic of China, this thesis investigates their perceptual learning style preferences. The first two objectives of the research are to identify the perceptual learning style preferences of Czech subjects and Chinese subjects respectively. Then the similarities and differences between subjects from these two countries are supposed to be concluded. And finally, this thesis also aims to make relative suggestions as to how to apply the results of the research into foreign language learning and teaching. There are altogether six chapters in this thesis. Chapter One begins with the background introduction, objectives, significance and structure of this research. In Chapter Two, the literature review which includes the perceptual learning style theory and related theoretical support are presented. Chapter Three compares the culture backgrounds and education systems between the Czech Republic and People’s Republic of China. Chapter Four puts forwards the research purposes, questions, methods and data collection procedures. Results and discussion of the comparative research are provided in Chapter Five. Chapter Six concludes the whole thesis and suggests directions for further study in this area. Results show that in terms of perceptual learning style preferences, there are similarities and differences for subjects from different cultural backgrounds. Both Czech and Chinese subjects show a variety of perceptual learning style preferences. The majority of Czech and Chinese participants choose the auditory learning style as their major learning style and the visual learning style as their minor one. However, the most obvious difference between subjects from these two countries is that more Czech students prefer to work individually while more Chinese students enjoy working with others. This results are consistent with Hofstede’s cultural dimensions theory. Concluded from the results and discussion of the thesis, foreign language teachers and learners are encouraged to become aware of the vital importance of perceptual learning style preferences. It is also recommended to match teachers’ teaching styles with students’ perceptual learning styles. In order to create the harmony between teachers and students in foreign language class, teachers could provide students with various learning materials or divide students into different groups according to their preferences and students are also encouraged to actively matching their learning preferences with their teachers’ teaching styles.
