Language image of "horse" in Czech and Polish phraseology - comparative study

Abstract:

The text of the abstract: The aim of this diploma thesis, entitled "The linguistic image of the horse in Czech and Polish phraseology - A comparative study", is an analysis of the linguistic image of the horse in the history of Czech and Polish language and a verification of existing phrasal terms and proverbs associated with the word "horse". Moreover, the thesis demonstrates the role the horse has been performing in the lives of humans, and the animal's use and treatment in both national communities. Based on the analysis of phrasal terms, an interpretation of the ways the horse has been handled both throughout history and today may be concluded

Celem niniejszej pracy dyplomowej pod tytułem "Jazykový obraz koně v české a polské frazeologii-srovnávací studium" jest analiza językowego obrazu konia w czeskiej i polskiej historii języka oraz sprawdzenie, jakie istnieją frazeologizmy i przysłowia związane z wyrazem "koń". Praca również pokazuje rolę konia w życiu człowieka, jego wykorzystanie i traktowanie w danych społeczeństwach. Z analizy frazeologizmów możemy wyczytać, jak traktowano konia dawniej i dziś.
