Město Kostelec nad Černými lesy spadá svou lokací do středočeského kraje, okres Praha – východ a leží 30 km východně od Prahy v nadmořské výšce 391 n. m. Katastrální výměra činí 1. 770 hektarů. The town Kostelec nad Černými lesy is located in the Central Bohemian Region, Prague - East district and it is 30 km far from Prague at an altitude of 391 meters above sea level. The cadastral area is 1,770 hectares. Kostelec nad Černými lesy is an example of a settlement that has grown due to its irregular arrangement.
