Scrappage - right solution of the economic crisis?

Abstract:

Diplomová práce na téma "Šrotovné -- správné řešení hospodářské krize?" analyzuje efektivitu šrotovného v kontextu dopadu na ekonomickou situaci jednotlivých států. Hodnotí, zda tento nástroj jako jedno z opatření na podporu především automobilového průmyslu v době hospodářské krize přináší pozitivní či negativní dopad a zda je toto opatření účinné. Na základě vymezení teoretického rámce zaměřeného na ekonomickou teorii spotřeby a na základě analýzy dostupných statistických dat práce hodnotí vývoj v oblasti automobilového průmyslu v letech 2000 -- 2012 a porovnává odlišnosti dopadu v jednotlivých státech (se subvencí, bez subvence). Závěr práce přináší diskusi nad úlohou šrotovného v rámci ekonomik vybraných států.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis "Scrappage - right solution of the economic crisis?" analyzes the efficiency of "scrappage" in the context of impact on the economic situation of various countries. It assesses whether this instrument, as one of the measures to support mainly the automotive industry in times of economic crisis, brings positive or negative impact and whether it is effective. Based on the definition of theoretical framework focused on economic consuption theory and the analysis of available statistical data, the work assesses the development of the automotive industry in the period 2000 - 2012 and compares the differences of impact in each country (with subsidies, without subsidies). At the end, the work brings a discussion over the role of scrapping within the economies of selected countries.
