The effect of newborn hospitalization on the psyche of parents.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem hospitalizace novorozence na oddělení JIP/JIRP na psychický stav rodičů dítěte. Závěrečná práce obsahuje dvě části, teoretickou a praktickou. V teoretické části jsou explikovány základní pojmy, dotýkající se témata mé práce vlivu hospitalizace novorozence na psychiku jeho rodičů, psychické poruchy rodičů hospitalizovaných novorozenců a komunikace zdravotnického personálu oddělení s rodiči nemocného dítěte. Praktická část je vypracována formou kvalitativního výzkumu, který umožňuje popsat do hloubky pocity, emoce a potřeby těchto rodičů, kteří jsou zatíženi velmi náročnou životní situací, jako je hospitalizace jejich miminka na jednotce intenzivní péče. Hlavním cílem mé závěrečné práce je prozkoumat a definovat, jaké potřeby těchto rodičů můžeme zajistit a jak jim můžeme poskytnout dostatečnou podporu v této nelehké situaci.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the effect of hospitalization of a newborn in the NICU/ICU on the psychological state of the child's parents. The thesis contains two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts touching on the topic of my thesis of the influence of hospitalization of a newborn on the psyche of its parents, psychological disorders of parents of hospitalized newborns and the communication of the medical staff of the ward with the parents of the sick child are explicated. The practical part is developed in the form of qualitative research, which allows to describe in depth the feelings, emotions and needs of these parents who are burdened with a very challenging life situation, such as the hospitalization of their baby in the intensive care unit. The main objective of my thesis is to explore and define what needs of these parents can be provided for and how we can provide them with sufficient support in this not easy situation.
