Compositions by Czech composers for solo clarinet

Abstract:

Tato práce přináší ucelený pohled na skladby českých autorů pro sólový klarinet. Věnuje se dostupným skladbám 20. a 21. století a mapuje vývoj této specifické formy skladeb u nás. Přináší interpretační rozbory vybraných děl, autorské komentáře k jejich vzniku a historii. V práci jsou zmíněny druhy moderních technik hry na klarinet, jež se objevují v rámci těchto skladeb, a jejich možné způsoby provedení. Práce se zabývá tvorbou autorů v poválečném Československu, a to tvorbou Aloise Háby, Jana Klusáka a Jana Rychlíka. V rámci zkoumání repertoáru z 60. až 80. let 20. století se zabývá tvorbou českých autorů ve srovnání s tvorbou skladatelů působících mimo sovětský blok. Věnuje se práci Jiřího Pauera, Jindřicha Felda, Ivany Loudové, Sylvie Bodorové a dalších. V neposlední řadě mapuje vývoj po revoluci v roce 1989 a vliv nových uměleckých směrů na tvorbu pro sólový klarinet – minimal music, duchovní hudba, otevřené formy, divadelní prvky. Zkoumá v této souvislosti skladby autorů Jaroslava Šťastného, Marka Kopelenta, Pavla Zemka Nováka, Lukáše Matouška, Ivo Bláhy, Karla Husy a dalších. V této práci byl kladen důraz na objektivní a faktografická tvrzení, pokud možno podložená komunikací s autory a interprety samotnými. Tato práce se zabývá pouze skladbami pro klarinet in B a in A a záměrně se vyhýbá repertoáru pro basklarinet. Tato práce obsahuje katalog dohledaných skladeb s informacemi o skladateli, roku vydání nebo vzniku, časovém rozsahu, o interpretovi premiéry a interpretační náročnosti.

Abstract:

This work presents a comprehensive view of the compositions of Czech composers for solo clarinet. It deals with the available compositions of the 20th and 21st centuries and charts the development of this specific form of composition in the Czech Republic. It provides interpretative analyses of selected works and authorial commentaries on its origin and history. The types of modern clarinet playing techniques that appear within these compositions and their possible ways of performance are discussed. The thesis deals with the work of authors in post-war Czechoslovakia, namely Alois Hába, Jan Klusák and Jan Rychlík. It examines the repertoire from the 1960s to the 1980s, comparing the work of Czech composers with that of composers working outside the Soviet bloc. It examines the work of Jiří Pauer, Jindřich Feld, Ivana Loudová, Sylvia Bodorova and others. Last but not least, the work charts the development after the revolution in 1989 and the influence of new artistic trends on works for solo clarinet - minimal music, artificial music, open forms, theatrical elements. In this context, it examines the compositions of Jaroslav Šťastný, Marek Kopelent, Pavel Zemek Novák, Lukáš Matoušek, Ivo Bláha, Karel Husa and others. The emphasis in this work has been on objective and factual statements, if possible supported by communication with the authors and performers themselves. The thesis deals only with works for clarinet in B and in A and deliberately does not deal with works for bass clarinet. The thesis includes a catalogue of accessible compositions with information on composer, year of publication, time indication, premiere performer and performance difficulty.
