Geographical aspects of international trade: current trends

Abstract:

Tato práce analyzuje aktuální komoditní a teritoriální strukturu mezinárodního obchodu a na základě této analýzy indukuje současné trendy v této problematice. Zaměřuje se na vzájemný vliv vybraných ekonomik a integračních uskupení a jejich vývoj za posledních několik let. V první kapitole je nastíněn teoretický rámec mezinárodního obchodu, je zde vymezen pojem mezinárodní obchod, jeho subjekty a úloha ve světové ekonomice. Dále jsou zde popsány nejvýznamnější teorie mezinárodního obchodu, a v závěru kapitoly je věnována pozornost Světové obchodní organizaci WTO a její úloze jako tvůrce mnohostranného obchodního systému. Druhá kapitola se věnuje analýze teritoriální struktury mezinárodního obchodu skrze nejvýznamnější aktéry, tedy Čínu, USA a Německo a dále pak z pohledu integračních uskupení, konkrétně Evropské unie, NAFTA, ASEAN, Mercosur a SNS. V závěru kapitoly jsou shrnuty nejvýznamnější aktuální trendy z této oblasti. Třetí a poslední kapitola se věnuje komoditní struktuře mezinárodního obchodu, analyzuje vybrané nejobchodovanější komodity na světě, mezi které patří ropa, zlato a sója. Zároveň se zabývá obchodem se zbožím dle klasifikace SITC, jejímž autorem je Organizace spojených národů OSN. V závěru kapitoly jsou opět shrnuty nejvýznamnější trendy v této problematice. Celkově tedy práce poskytuje komplexní náhled na aktuální stav a trendy ve vývoji mezinárodního obchodu z hlediska komoditní a teritoriální struktury, vycházející z nenovějších dostupných dat, statistik a reportů.

Abstract:

This Master’s thesis analyzes the current commodity and territorial structure of international trade and on the basis of this analysis causes current trends in this area. It focuses on the mutual influence of selected economies and integration groupings and their development in last several years. The first chapter outlines the theoretical framework of international trade, defines the concept of international trade, its subjects and role in the world economy. Furthermore, there are described the most important theories of international trade and the end of the chapter is focused on the World Trade Organization (WTO) and its role as the creator of the multilateral trading system. The second chapter is devoted to the analysis of territorial structures of international trade through the most important actors, ie China, USA and Germany and also from the perspective of integration groupings, specifically the European Union, NAFTA, ASEAN, Mercosur and CIS. At the end of the chapter are summarized the most important current trends in this area. The third and last chapter deals with the commodity structure of international trade, analyzes selected most traded commodities in the world, including oil, gold and soybeans. It also analyses international trade with goods according to SITC classification, which is maintained by the United Nations. At the end of the chapter are summarized the most important trends in this area. Overall, the thesis provides a comprehensive view of the current state and trends in international trade from the perspective of commodity and territorial structure, based on the latest data, statistics and reports.
