Physiotherapy in a Patient after Distal Radius Fracture

Abstract:

Tématem mé bakalářské práce je fyzioterapeutický postup u pacienta po zlomenině distálního radia. V teoretické části je přiblížena anatomie předloktí, zápěstí a ruky, kineziologie taktéž v oblasti předloktí a ruky. V další kapitole je rozvedena oblast ortopedie a traumatologie, ve které jsem zmínila například rozdělení, diagnostiku a hojení zlomenin. Dále je v práci uvedena terapie, její typy, a jako poslední jsou zmíněny příklady komplikací, které mohou nastat u tohoto poranění. Praktická část práce je založena na kazuistice pacientky s již zmíněnou diagnózou, tedy zlomeninou distálního radia, která byla řešena operativním způsobem. Cílem mé práce je tedy sledovat proces fyzioterapie a zaměřit se na obnovu funkce postižené oblasti. Vyzkoušet různé druhy terapií, které by mohly zlepšit stav poranění. Během průběhu fyzioterapie u pacientky došlo k postupnému snížení otoku a bolesti, ke zlepšení stavu jizvy, zvýšení rozsahu pohybu a svalové síly a celkové zlepšení funkčnosti.

Abstract:

The topic of my bachelor thesis is physiotherapeutic management of a patient after a distal radius fracture. In the theoretical part the anatomy of the forearm, wrist and hand is presented, as well as kinesiology in the forearm and hand. In the next chapter, the field of orthopaedics and traumatology is developed, in which I mention, for example, the classification, diagnosis and healing of fractures. Next, therapy, its types, and lastly, examples of complications that can occur with this injury are mentioned. The practical part of the thesis is based on a case report of a patient with the aforementioned diagnosis, i.e. fracture of the distal radius, which was solved surgically. The aim of my work is therefore to follow the process of physiotherapy and to focus on the restoration of the function of the affected area. To try different types of therapies that could improve the condition of the injury. During the course of physiotherapy, the patient experienced a gradual reduction in swelling and pain, improvement in scar condition, increased range of motion and muscle strength, and overall improvement in function.
