Diversity of perennial ruderal and trampled vegetation of the Czech Repulic

Abstract:

Vlivem intenzivní urbanizace v posledních desetiletích je patrný trend zvyšujícího se zastoupení ruderální vegetace v krajině, což vede k výrazným změnám biodiverzity ve středoevropské krajině, a její výzkum v současné době tudíž nabývá na významu. V České republice publikovali první soubornější přehled jednotek ruderální vegetace zpracovaný tradiční metodou fytocenologické klasifikace Hejný et al. (1979) v práci Přehled ruderálních rostlinných společenstev Československa. Později vydávají Moravec et al. (1983, druhé doplněné vydání 1995) příručku Rostlinná společenstva České republiky a jejich ohrožení. Tento přehled však obsahuje pouze seznam asociací se stručným popisem a s ne zcela jasným vymezením. Při tradičním způsobu fytocenologické klasifikace se obecně vymezení jednotek ruderální vegetace v různých zemích liší v závislosti na pojetí jednotlivých autorů používajících při klasifikaci různá kritéria. Tyto klasifikace jsou uzavřené a nejsou u nich definovaná kritéria pro přiřazování dalších nově získaných fytocenologických snímků do již vymezených jednotek. Z těchto důvodů byla u vybraných typů vytrvalé ruderální vegetace a vegetace sešlapávaných stanovišť České republiky (tj. svazů Onopordion acanthii, Dauco-Melilotion, Convolvulo-Agropyrion, Arction lappae, Galio-Alliarion, Aegopodion podagrariae, Polygonion avicularis a Centrantho-Parietarion, dle Moravec et al. 1995) provedena syntaxonomická revize dosavadní fytocenologické klasifikace a s ohledem na hlavní gradienty variability v druhovém složení studované vegetace a zastoupení funkčních druhových skupin byla vytvořena formalizovaná fytocenologická klasifikace společenstev. Výsledná klasifikace bude součástí druhého dílu monografie Vegetace České republiky. Je obecně známo, že zastoupení nepůvodních druhů (tj. invadovanost) se mezi různými typy antropogenních stanovišť liší. Nicméně málo se ví o tom, jaké faktory mají největší vliv na invadovanost jednotlivých vegetačních typů, tj. jakou roli hrají například lokální stanovištní podmínky, přísun diaspor z okolí nebo klima. Jedním ze specifických typů antropogenních stanovišť jsou zdi. Ty se většinou nacházejí přímo v sídlech, kde jsou vystaveny většímu přísunu diaspor pro naši flóru nepůvodních druhů, jak archeofytů, tak neofytů. Flóra a vegetace zdí u nás sice byla v několika studiích podrobněji zkoumána, malá pozornost však byla věnována invazibilitě tohoto typu ruderální vegetace a jejímu významu v invazní ekologii.

Abstract:

Owing to intensive urbanisation in the last decades, there is an obvious trend of increasing representation of ruderal flora and vegetation in the landscape which has led to considerable changes of biodiversity in the Central European landscape. For these reasons the investigation of ruderal flora and vegetation in urbanised areas is of considerable importance today. In the Czech Republic, a first survey of units of ruderal vegetation elaborated by traditional methods of phytosociological classification was published by Hejný and colleagues (1979). Later, Moravec and colleagues (1983, 1995) published a handbook, Plant communities of the Czech Republic and their endangerment, which includes a survey of associations. Unfortunately, delimitation of associations is not very clear and they are without detailed description. Some of the vegetation units overlap with their content or have only poor floristic delimitation or there are no phytosociologically documented examples from the country. Most Czech and foreign authors have used traditional methods of phytosociological classification until today. Delimitation of units of ruderal vegetation differs, however, in various countries, according to the various conceptions of authors, who use different criteria for classification. Delimitation is often inconsistent, based only on an expert opinion and mostly without any data analysis. In any case, a disadvantage of these phytosociological classifications is that they are closed and have not defined criteria for assignment of new relevés to already defined units. For these reasons the syntaxonomical conception of recent phytosociological classification of particular types of perennial ruderal and trampled vegetation of the Czech Republic (i.e. alliances Onopordion acanthii, Dauco-Melilotion, Convolvulo-Agropyrion, Arction lappae, Galio-Alliarion, Aegopodion podagrariae, Polygonion avicularis and Centrantho-Parietarion, according to Moravec and colleagues (1995)) was revised and with regard to the main gradients in the species composition of studied vegetation and the representation of sociological groups of species formalized phytosociological classification of plant communities was created. Final classification will form part of the second volume of the monograph Vegetation of the Czech Republic. Vegetation colonising man-made habitats usually has a high proportion of alien species, both archaeophytes and neophytes. It is generally recognised that the representation of aliens differs among different types of man-made habitats. Nevertheless, little is known about which factors influence the representation of aliens in different vegetation types, i.e. the role of local habitat conditions, availability of diaspores from the surroundings or climate. One of the man-made habitats are walls. They are usually located in settlements, where they are exposed to high diaspore pressure of alien species. Although several studies on flora and vegetation of walls were published in the Czech Republic, little is known about the representation of alien flora in this type of ruderal vegetation and its importance in invasive ecology.
