Abstract:

V absolventské práci Trapisté v Čechách se autorka věnuje nejmladšímu kontemplativnímu řádu u nás. Tento řád, jehož oficiální název je Cisterciáci přísné observace, má jako svou hlavní náplň vedle manuální práce modlitbu, což pro mnohé lidi může být neužitečná činnost. Proto cílem této práce je přiblížit trapistický řád a snaha ukázat a vysvětlit jeho význam pro dnešní společnost. Autorka se ve své práci opírá především o své vlastní zkušenosti, které mohla nasbírat během svého čtyřměsíčního působení jako dobrovolnice ve švýcarském trapistickém klášteře Fille-Dieu v Romontu (kanton Fribourg). V práci můžeme najít historii trapistů přímo od jejich kořenů, benediktinů, až po příchod do České republiky a následně popis jejich každodenního života. Celkové poznatky o tomto kontemplativním řádu nás vedou k tomu, že i na první pohled, který nám může ukazovat jejich neužitečnou činnost, mají trapisté pro náš život velký význam. Jedná se tak o spirituální přínos pro společnost, novou vitalitu v odlehlých místech, možnost duchovního naplnění nebo také sociální pomoc.

Abstract:

The graduate thesis Trappists in Bohemia is devoted to the youngest contemplative order in the Czech republic. Its official name is The Order of Cistercians of the Strict Observance. Regarding its main activities, manul work and prayer belong there. Especially prayer can seem for many people to be a useless activity. Therefore the aim of this thesis is describing the Trappists´ order as well as the effort to show and to explain its meaning for today´s society. In this thesis the author relies on her own experience that she could gain during her four-month stay like volunteer in the Swiss Trappists monastery Fille-Dieu in Romont (canton Fribourg). In this thesis we can find the history of Trappists from their roots − Benedictines − until their arrival to the Czech Republic and subsequently descriptions of their daily life. The overall findings about this contemplative order lead us to believe that, even if the glance can consider their activities like useless, that Trappists have a huge significance for our lives. It is containing the spiritual contribution for society, new vitality in the secluded places, possibility of spiritual fulfilment or social support as well.
