Shadow

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na různorodá pojetí a vysvětlení stínu, a to v praktické i teoretické rovině. Praktická část sestává z deseti maleb různých formátů. Autorská tvorba je inspirována záznamy stínů v městské a venkovské krajině. Malby jsou současně ovlivněny myšlenkami a teoriemi, které se termínem stín zabývají. V teoretické části, kde jsou tyto myšlenky shrnuty, parafrázovány a rozvíjeny, je pojednán stín, který asociuje mnoho významů a nabízí mnohočetnost výkladů. Stín, v obecném slova smyslu, lze chápat jako vymezený prostor, kam nedopadá světlo. Lze ho vizuálně vnímat. V přeneseném významu je stín chápán jako psychologický termín, vztahující se k lidské psychice. Významnou částí diplomové práce je filozofický kontext, který nastiňuje přístupy k rozmanitému pojetí stínu napříč historií i kulturami. Oscilace mezi konkrétním a abstraktním pojetím stínu je reflektována v praktické části diplomové práce a stává se námětem pro výtvarné zpracování. Teoretická práce je kompilací myšlenek a poznatků z různých oblastí a oborů, neodmyslitelně je ale vnímána coby textový doprovod k jednotlivým malbám.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the diverse concept in expression and meaning of shadows. The thesis consists from theoretical and practical parts. The practical part consists of ten paintings and they are results of observing and collecting visual records. The theoretical part summarizes and paraphrases important theories and concepts of what is shadow. The shadow currently associates many meanings and offers variety of interpretations. The shadow, in the general sense, can be understood as area where no light is falling. It can visually perceive, observe its shape changes. It can be visually perceived and observed. In the psychology the shadow is seen as part of the human psyche. An important part of the thesis is also a philosophical context, which opens various approaches to understanding the shadow trough the human being. This oscillation between the concrete and the abstract concept of shadow is reflected in the practical part and becomes the motive for creation. Theoretical work is a compilation of ideas and knowledge from different fields and disciplines, but it is inherently perceived as an accompaniment to paintings.
