Trunks of Thought: Modern Art as the Roots of Innovative Education

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá zkoumáním vztahu mezi moderním výtvarným uměním a pedagogikou s důrazem na akční umění, konceptuální umění a landart. Teoretická část se věnuje prozkoumání těchto uměleckých směrů a jejich edukačního potenciálu v kontextu základního školního vzdělávání. Zaměřuje se na analýzu přístupů k aktivnímu učení a tvorby učebních plánů s přihlédnutím k autorčiným osobním zkušenostem s akčním uměním a rituály a jejich vlivem na výukový proces. V praktické části je představen a částečně implementován půlroční učební plán pro sedmé třídy základní školy, který je zaměřen na seznámení žáků s moderním výtvarným uměním. Součástí práce je také realizace rituálu ve školním prostředí, jeho dokumentace a hodnocení. Cílem je posoudit reakce žáků, výukové výsledky a reflektovat autorčiny pedagogické zkušenosti. Práce přináší nový pohled na integraci moderního umění do školních osnov a zkoumá jeho význam pro rozvoj kreativity a kritického myšlení mezi mladými lidmi.

Abstract:

This master‘s thesis explores the relationship between modern visual arts and pedagogy, focusing on action art, conceptual art, and landart. The theoretical part investigates these artistic movements and their educational potential in the context of elementary education. It examines approaches to active learning and the creation of curricula, considering the author‘s personal experiences with action art and rituals and their impact on the teaching process. In the practical part, a semester-long educational plan for seventh-grade students is presented and partially implemented, aimed at acquainting students with modern visual arts. This work also includes the realization of a ritual in a school environment, its documentation, and evaluation. The goal is to assess the reactions of students, educational outcomes, and reflect on the author‘s pedagogical experiences. The thesis offers a new perspective on integrating modern art into school curricula and examines its significance for the development of creativity and critical thinking among young people.
