Old Testament Judith. What can inspire today's woman?

Abstract:

Ve své absolventské práci s názvem „Starozákonní Júdit – Čím může být inspirací pro dnešní ženu?“ se snažím studiem jednotlivých témat týkajících se této tématiky dojít k odpovědi na otázku v tomto názvu, kterou jsem si na začátku položila. Témata jdou v práci za sebou od nejobecnějšího (kapitoly o apokryfech a knize Júdit obecně) ke konkrétnějším (např. povaha a motivace Júdit). Témata, která jsou v práci obsažena, vytváří ucelený pohled na knihu Júdit a především na její hlavní postavu – vdovu Júdit. Tímto způsobem se postupně dostávám ke kýžené odpovědi. Prostřednictvím tohoto studia a rozhovorů s lidmi v jejím okolí jsem zjistila, že odpověď na předem položenou otázku může být velmi subjektivní. Proto zde předkládám mimo jiné i názory různých lidí (i svůj) a dávám čtenářům podněty k zamyšlení a inspiraci na základě Juditina příběhu. Metody, které jsem během zpracovávání práce použila, jsou studium literatury (Bible, odborná literatura a články) a dotazování.

Abstract:

In my final thesis called „Old Testament´s Judith – How can she be an inspiration for a woman nowadays?“, I try to answer the question in this title which I asked at the beginning through study of topics which are connected with this theme. These topics are in this thesis written in a row from the most general (chapters about apocrypha and the Book of Judith in general) to more concrete (e.g. characteristics and motivation of Judith). Topics which are included in this thesis creates a coherent view to the Book of Judith, especially to the main character of it – to a widow Judith. I get a desirable answer thanks to these means of study. I also used a few of interviews which I made with some people from my surroundings. I found out that the answer to my question from the beginning is very subjective. That is the reason why I used in this thesis also opinion of other people (and mine too) and I give to readers suggestions to reflection and inspiration based on Judith´s story. Methods which I used during the work on this thesis are study of literature (Bible, academic literature and articles) and interviews.
