The column of Marcus Aurelius - decoration and its message
Abstract:
Cílem mé práce je zhodnocení reliéfní výzdoby sloupu Marka Aurelia. Jeho umístění v antickém Římě a jeho technické parametry. Krátké shrnutí Markomanských válek a rozbor jednotlivých scén reliéfu sloupu. Srovnání těchto scén se scénami Traianova sloupu, reliéfními panely Marka Aurelia, obloukem Septimia Severa a římskými kamennými sarkofágy s bojovou tématikou.
Abstract:
Purpose of my work is the description of the decoration of the column of Marcus Aurelius. I mention the technical parameters of this column, its location in the ancient Rome and the time of its establishment. I also write briefly about so-called Marcomannic wars.
