German-czech language contact on the example of local names, especially in the North Bohemia

Abstract:

The thesis follows a comparation of the czech and german toponyms in the Usti Region and pursues a goal of finding out the origin of the chosen toponyms. It mentions also the historic background and the process of the settlement of the north part of Bohemia by the german population, the basic terms of the toponomastics and the general rules of the formation of the toponyms.

Abstract:

Die Diplomarbeit befasst sich mit dem Vergleich der tschechischen und deutschen Ortsnamen in der Aussiger Region und stellt sich als Ziel die Feststellung des Ursprungs ausgewaehlter Ortsnamen. Dabei erwaehnt u.a. den historischen Hintergrund und den Verlauf der Besiedlung des noerdlichen Teils Boehmens von der deutschen Bevoelkerung, die Grundbegriffe der Toponomastik und die allgemeinen Regeln der Ortsnamenbildung.
