Vynárajúca sa dospelosť je pomerne nový model popisujúci predlžujúce obdobie medzi adolescenciou a dospelosťou, charakteristické pre mladých ľudí v rozvinutých krajinách. Je to obdobie plné zmien a možností, hľadania vlastnej identity i autonómie. Môže byť vzrušujúce, ale aj záťažové a pre mnohých sa spája so stresom, či úzkosťou.
