The Electronic Book Reader in Secondary School Education

Abstract:

Diplomová práce Elektronická čtečka knih ve středoškolském vzdělávání se v úvodu zabývá vznikem a vývojem zaznamenávání poznatků a vývojem knihy potažmo učebnice, která je zásadní didaktickou pomůckou od počátku lidstva až po dnešní moderní dobu, a s tématikou elektronických čteček knih úzce souvisí. Dále pak je popsána úloha knihoven jako významný prvek v uchovávání informací. Autor také stručně shrnuje cestu k digitalizaci textu ve stručném historickém přehledu. Je definován a popsán pojem knihy a učebnice ze současného pedagogického hlediska, její význam, funkce a struktura. V další části je pak popsán a vysvětlen pojem elektronické čtečky knih, její vývoj a historie. Následně jsou rozebrány technické parametry a technologický pokrok v dané oblasti a stručné srovnání s dalšími elektronickými didaktickými prostředky. Jsou otevřeně komunikovány výhody a nevýhody, které toto zařízení přináší. Hlavní myšlenkou této práce je pak výzkum zaměřený na aktivní zkušenost s použitím elektronické čtečky knih přímo prostřednictvím učitelů středních škol. Dále pak navazuje vyhodnocení tohoto výzkumu s diskuzí o tomto moderním zařízení a jeho budoucnosti v českém školství.

Abstract:

The introduction of the diploma thesis "An Electronic Book Reader in Secondary School Education" deals with the origin and development of recording information and the development of the book, as well as the textbook which are the major teaching tools since the beginning of humankind to today´s modern era. The topics of electronic readers are closely related. Further is described the role of the library as the significant source of storing written information. The author briefly summarises the digitalisation of text in a short historical summary. The concept of the book and the textbook as well as their meaning, function and structure is described, as well as that of the electronic reader. Further technical specifications and technical progress in given areas are analysed and briefly compared with other electronic teaching tools. The advantages and disadvantages that this device delivers are also described. The main part consists of research focused on the use of the electronic reader and the views of secondary school teachers. The evaluation of this research is then connected with the discussion of this modern teaching tool and its future in the Czech educational system.
