Abstract:

Na základě hypotézy, že se mateřština promítá do výslovnosti cizích jazyků, se tato práce zaměřuje na tendence českých mluvčích, a to jak z hlediska vyslovování anglických samohlásek, tak z pohledu správného umístění přízvuku. První část práce se věnuje teoretickému vymezení těchto dvou oblastí včetně jejich porovnání s českými zvyklostmi. Kromě toho pojednává také o významnosti segmentálních a suprasegmentálních jevů z hlediska srozumitelnosti mluveného projevu. Výzkum v praktické části práce je realizován skrze software Praat.

Abstract:

Based on the hypothesis declaring the foreign language pronunciation to be influenced by the mother tongue to a certain extent, this diploma thesis focuses on the Czech speakers´ pronunciation tendencies regarding English vowel pronunciation and correct stress placement. The former part of this thesis delimits the theoretical aspects of these two issues, including the comparison with the Czech conventions. On top of that, segmental and suprasegmental features are examined in terms of intelligibility significance. Finally, the practical part of this thesis works with the software Praat.
