Abstract:
The present master's thesis is a historiographical insight into the life and compositional work of the Cistercian abbot, composer, and music theorist Johannes Nucius (1556–1620). The biographical chapter reflects his youth in Upper Lusatia and his activities in the Silesian monasteries of Rauden and Himmelwitz.
