Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na postavení žen v Shakespearových tragédiích. Zabývá se vztahy těchto žen s jejich manželi, milenci a otci. Práce je rozdělena do pěti hlavních kapitol, které jsou věnovány pěti hlavním Shakespearovým hrám a jejich ženským představitelkám. Každá z kapitol analyzuje povahu hrdinek, jejich dětství, rodinné zázemí, jejich plány, očekávání a touhy. Menší zmínka je věnována Shakespearově manželství a jeho možnému vlivu na zobrazení žen v jeho hrách. Závěr práce potom shrnuje analýzu hrdinek a vliv jejich partnerů na jejich život. Práce se snaží popsat, s jakými očekáváními vstupovaly ženy do manželství a zda byla jejich očekávání naplněna. Zodpovídá otázku, zda se chápání ženy v průběhu staletí změnilo, nebo zda ženy cítí lásku stejně, jako v Shakespearových dobách.

Abstract:

This Bachelor thesis concentrates on the position of females in Shakespeare's tragedies. It focuses on the relationships with their husbands, lovers, their husbands’ flunkeys and even their fathers. The work is divided into five main chapters which are dedicated to five main Shakespeare's tragedies and their female protagonists. Each chapter analyses the heroines' character, their childhood and background, their plans, expectations and desires. A brief mention is also dedicated to Shakespeare’s relationship with his wife and what influence it could have on portraying the women in his plays. The final conclusion then summarizes the analysis of the heroines and the impact their partners had on their lives. The work analyzes what intentions Shakespeare's wives had when wedding their husbands, what they expected from their marriage and whether these expectations were fulfilled. It answers the questions whether anything changed throughout the centuries in women's mind and heart.
