Abstract:

Práce se zabývá japonským školstvím a japonskými učebnicemi dějepisu. Konkrétně se zaměřuje na kontroverze spojené se systémem státní autorizace učebnic, který byl na pokyn SCAP zaveden po druhé světové válce. Tento systém, používaný dodnes, se v druhé polovině dvacátého století stává předmětem časté kritiky, a ministerstvo školství bylo obviněno ze zneužívání tohoto systému k cenzurování nežádoucích pasáží v učebnicích.Nejznámějším projevem tohoto odporu byly soudní pře Ienagy Saburóa. Ienaga, japonský historik a učitel, se se státem téměř třicet let soudil kvůli zásahům ministerstva do jeho učebnice a snažil se dokázat protiústavnost autorizace učebnic, kterou považoval za nástroj cenzury. A ačkoliv se mu protiústavnost systému prokázat nepodařilo, soud mu povolil do učebnice beze změn zahrnout některé pasáže, které mu předtím ministerstvo zakázalo. Také přesné detaily tohoto procesu byly odhaleny veřejnosti a systém přestal být tak striktní, jako předtím. V roce 1982 se tento proces stal předmětem kritiky Číny a Jižní Koreje, které se údajně obávaly návratu japonského militarismu, i když pozdější vyšetřování ukázalo, že se jednalo spíše o planý poplach. Další vlna protestů se zvedla po roce 2002, kdy byla autorizována kontroverzní učebnice Atarašii rekiši kjókašo., a spory o výkladu japonských dějin jsou aktuální i dnes.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on Japanese education and Japanese history textbooks. More specifically, it focuses on controversies concerning the system of the state authorization of textbooks, which had been introduced by SCAP after World War 2. This system, still in use today, became a target of strong criticism in the second half of twentieth century, and the ministry of education was often accused of misusing the system to censor unwanted passages in textbooks.The most famous example of this were Ienaga Saburo's lawsuits. Ienaga, a Japanese teacher and historian, led a series of lawsuits against the state, for almost thirty years, hoping to prove the unconstitutionality of the system which he considered to be a means of censorship. And even though he didn't manage to prove the unconstitutionality of the system, the court allowed him to include many passages, without any change, that the ministry had forbidden him previously. Also, the precise details of the process very revealed to the public, and the system became much less strict than it used to be.In 1982 the process became a target of criticism from China and South Korea, that were allegedly afraid of a return of Japanese militarism, though later investigations showed that the case was merely a false alarm. The next wave of protests erupted in 2002, when the controversial textbook Atarashii rekishi kyokasho had been authorized, and disputes over the interpretation of Japanese history continue even today.
