The working conditions of people with disabilities

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá pracovními podmínkami osob se zdravotním postižením, což je nejpočetnější, ale také nejvíce ohrožená menšina, zejména pokud jde o trh práce. Tato kategorie je specifická svou různorodostí, neboť zahrnuje jedince s různými typy tělesných, smyslových, mentálních a psychických postižení. Na celém světě se lidé se zdravotním postižením zapojují do pracovního procesu, protože stejně jako ostatní potřebují získat prostředky ke své obživě prací. Zapojení do pracovního prostředí je rovněž důležitým prvkem sociální integrace. Přesto je i ve vyspělých zemích světa míra nezaměstnanosti u zdravotně postižených dvakrát vyšší než u zbytku populace. Osoby se zdravotním postižením mnohdy konají práci za podmínek, které jsou vyloučeny z úpravy pracovněprávních předpisů a minimálních standardů odměňování.

Abstract:

The present thesis deals with working conditions of persons with disabilities. People with disabilities create the world’s largest and most disadvantaged minority, especially in the labour market. This group of persons is characterised with its variety because it includes individuals who have a physical, a sensory, an intellectual or a mental disability. All over the world people with disabilities are participating in world of work to make themselves living. Their working activity is also an important instrument of social integration. However, even in developed countries an unemployment rate of disabled people is twice that of the non-disabled workers. In many cases people with disabilities perform their work in conditions that are not governed by labour law regulations and are excluded from minimum standards of remuneration.
