Sport as a vehicle of creating social capital

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá určením vlivu sportu na tvorbu jednotlivých výstupů sociálního kapitálu. Dochází zde k porovnání vlivu týmového a individuálního spor-tu, výkonnostních úrovní sportu a vlivu mezi pohlavími. Jednotlivými výstupy jsou altruism, informal interaction, formal membership and group participation a social trust. Tyto výstupy sociálního kapitálu jsou pro lepší orientaci celým výzkumem po-drobně představeny v literární rešerši. Z literární rešerše současně vyplynuly vý-zkumné otázky a jim připadající hypotézy. Sběr dat proběhl pomocí dotazníkového šetření. Sesbíraná kvantitativní data byla následně analyzována vhodnými statistic-kými metodami. Výsledky indikovaly odlišnosti zejména u proměnné formal membership and group participation. U proměnné altruism nebyly odlišnosti potvrzeny.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the determination of the influence of sport on the formation of individual social capital outcomes. It compares the impact of team and individual sport, the performance levels of sport and the impact between genders. The individual outcomes are altruism, informal interaction, formal membership and group participation, and social trust. These social capital outcomes are presented in detail in the literature review to better orient through the entire research. The research questions and their corresponding hypotheses emerged from the literature review. The data collection was done through a questionnaire survey. The quantitative data collected was subsequently analysed using appropriate statistical methods. The results indicated differences especially in the variables of formal membership and group participation. No differences were confirmed for the altruism variable.
