Type 2 diabetes mellitus patient's awareness od their disease

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na informovanost respondentů trpících diabetem mellitem 2. typu o jejich onemocnění. Práce je rozdělena do teoretické a praktické části. Teoretická část obsahuje obecný přehled o diabetu mellitu, jeho fyziologii, typech diabetu, klinickém obraze, diagnostických postupech, selfmonitoringu, terapii a souvisejících komplikacích. Průzkumná část zkoumá informovanost respondentů s diabetem mellitem 2. typu o jejich onemocnění na základě získaných dat z dotazníkového šetření. Získání dat probíhalo formou kvantitativního šetření pomocí dotazníku vlastní tvorby. Vyhodnocení dotazníků bylo prezentováno formou grafů, které jsou k dispozici v této bakalářské práci spolu s podrobným popisem výsledků průzkumu. Tento průzkum odhalil nedostatky v informovanosti respondentů o onemocnění diabetes mellitus 2. typu, a to ohledně této nemoci. Ze získaných dat vyplývá, že celkově respondentům chybí informace o možných komplikacích, a to jak akutních, tak i chronických a současně i o způsobech prevence.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the awareness of respondents suffering from type 2 diabetes mellitus about their disease. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical parts. The theoretical part contains a general overview of diabetes mellitus, its physiology, types of diabetes, clinical picture, diagnostic procedures, self-monitoring, therapy and related complications. The exploratory part examines the awareness of respondents with type 2 diabetes mellitus about their disease based on data obtained from a questionnaire survey. The data collection was done through a quantitative survey using a self-administered questionnaire. The evaluation of the questionnaires was presented in the form of graphs which are available in this bachelor thesis along with a detailed description of the survey results. This survey revealed the gaps in the awareness of the respondents regarding the disease type 2 diabetes mellitus. The data obtained shows that overall respondents lack information about possible complications, both acute and chronic, as well as ways of prevention.
