The town of Krnov and its inhabitants in the cousre of time.

Abstract:

Předkládaná bakalářská práce na téma "Krnov a jeho obyvatelé v proměnách času" se primárně zabývá problematikou poválečného vývoje města. V úvodu práce je popsáno soužití Čechů, Němců a Židů v nejdůležitějších historických etapách. Jejich soužití bylo definitivně zničeno druhou světovou válkou, která probíhala v letech 1939-1945. Válka měla za následek, že na Krnovsku došlo k výrazné proměně národnostního složení obyvatelstva. Německá menšina byla odsunuta, a do pohraničí přicházeli nejen českoslovenští obyvatelé, ale i lidé ze zahraničí. Osídlení bylo úspěšné, nicméně výrazně ovlivnilo stávající průmysl, zemědělství, a v neposlední řadě také politické dění v Československé republice. Cílem práce je pomocí analýzy historické literatury, specializující se na poválečný vývoj v pohraničí, a rozboru archivních pramenů z okresního archívu Bruntál popsat skutečné dopady válečných událostí na Krnov a na jeho obyvatele.

Abstract:

The presented bachelor's thesis on the topic "Krnov and its inhabitants in the changes of time" primarily deals with the issue of post-war development of the city. The introduction describes the coexistence of Czechs, Germans and Jews in the most important historical epochs. Their coexistence was definitively destroyed by the Second World War, which took place in 1939-1945. As a result of the war, there was a significant change in the ethnic composition of the population in the Krnov region. The German minority was expulsed and not only residents of Czechoslovak nationality but also people from abroad came to the border areas. The settlement was successful; however, it significantly affected the existing industry, agriculture and, last but not least, political events in the Czechoslovak Republic. The aim of the work is to describe the real impacts of war events on Krnov and its inhabitants by analysing historical literature, which specializes in post-war development in the border area, and by analysing archival sources from the district archives in the town of Bruntál.
