Scout movement in Czech-Austrian comparison after 1938

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the development of the scout ideology in the Czech Republic and Austria after 1938. The theoretical part describes the foundation of scouting, its expansion into the world and its beginnings in the Czech Republic and Austria. Furthermore, the work describes the scout ideology and the development of the scout organization in these two countries after its foundation. The practical part describes how the scouting ideology of the Czech and Austrian scouts changed after 1938 and how at certain times the scouts had to adapt to the political situation. The final part compares how this historical context is perceived by today's members of the Scout organization. How and whether they perceive it at all, whether infor-mation about this overlap is passed on and which part of the organization’s history is most important to the members.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vývojem skautské ideologie v České republice a v Rakousku po roce 1938. V teoretické části je popsáno založení skautingu, jeho rozšíření do světa a jeho počátky v Česku a v Rakousku. Dále je v práci popsána skautská ideologie a vývoj skautské organizace v těchto dvouuch zemích, po jejím založení. V praktické části je popsáno, jak se skautská ideologie v českých a rakouských skautů po roce 1938 změnila a jak se v některých dobách museli skauti přizpůsobit politické situaci. V závěrečné části porovnávám, jak je tento historický kontext vnímám dnešními členy skautské organizace. Jak a zda ho vůbec vnímají, zda jsou informace o tomto přesahu předávány dále a která část historie této organizace je pro členy nejdůležitější.
