Web Application for User Configuration Generation of KYPO Platform Sandboxes

Abstract:

The aim of the work is the design and implementation of a prototype web application, which is intended to create and manage user configuration in the form of prescriptions for the Ansible tool. The configuration is managed and shared through the Git versioning system. The prescriptions are mainly used for the configuration of sandboxes in the environment of the Cyber ​​Polygon (KYPO). The application consists of a backend part implemented in Java using the SpringBoot framework and a frontend part that is implemented using the Angular framework. The work contains a brief description of the KYPO environment and the process of creating sandboxes in this environment. Part of the work is a detailed description of the Ansible tool and Ansible roles, which clarify the created configuration. Furthermore, the work includes the design of a data model and the design of the views. The design is followed by a description of the implementation of both parts of the application. The rest of the work is devoted to testing in the form of unit and integration tests and an attempt to reproduce the existing configuration through the application.

Abstract:

Cieľom práce je návrh a implementácia prototypu webovej aplikácie, ktorá je určená na tvorbu a správu používateľskej konfigurácie vo forme predpisov pre nástroj Ansible. Konfigurácia je spravovaná a zdieľaná prostredníctvom verzovacieho systému Git. Predpisy slúžia predovšetkým na konfiguráciu sandboxov v prostredí Kybernetického polygónu (KYPO). Aplikácia sa skladá z backendovej časti implementovanej v jazyku Java za pomoci frameworku SpringBoot a z frontendovej časti, ktorá je implementovaná pomocou frameworku Angular. Práca obsahuje stručný popis prostredia KYPO a proces tvorby sandboxov v tomto prostredí. Súčasťou práce je detailný popis nástroja Ansible a Ansible rolí, ktoré sprehľadňujú vytvorenú konfiguráciu. Ďalej práca obsahuje návrh dátového modelu a návrh obrazoviek aplikácie. Na návrh nadväzuje popis implementácie oboch častí aplikácie. Zvyšok práce je venovaný testovaniu formou jednotkových a integračných testov a pokusu reprodukovať existujúcu konfiguráciu prostredníctvom aplikácie.
