Egoistic and altruistic motivations of people working in social care

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá egoistickými a altruistickými motivacemi lidí, kteří pracují v sociální péči. Teoretická část se věnuje definování základních pojmů jako motiv, motivace, zdroje motivace, potřeby a jejich třídění, psychosociální potřeby, egoismus, altruismus a služby sociální péče. Dále jsou představeny teorie, jež se snaží vysvětlit vznik altruistického chování. Je zmíněna problematika etiky a morálky a jejich vztah k altruistickému chování. Poslední dvě kapitoly této části pojednávají o motivaci k pomoci druhým a to z hlediska lidí pracujících v pomáhajících profesích a lidí, kteří v této oblasti nepracují. V teoretické části si má práce klade za cíl zjistit, zda lidé pomáhají druhým z altruistických či egoistických důvodů. Druhým cílem je odpovědět na otázku, jaké jsou motivace lidí pracujících v sociální péči. Jaké pohnutky se na jejich motivaci podílí. Jak souvisí jejich motivace s výsledným pracovním výkonem. Cílem praktické části je ověřit několik hypotéz vycházejících z obecného povědomí o motivacích lidí pracujících v sociální péči. Pro testování těchto hypotéz byl vybrán kvalitativní výzkum. Cílovou skupinou šetření byli lidé pracující ve službách sociální péče. Součástí praktické části je také kapitola věnující se významu výsledků tohoto výzkumu pro sociální pedagogiku.

Abstract:

This thesis analyzes the altruistic and egoistic motivations of the people working in social care. Theoretical part is divided into sections ? there are basic definitions of motivations, sources of motivation, basic needs and their categories, egoisms, altruism, social care. There is also information about theories that try to explain the origin of altruistic behavior. Last two sections of this part deals with motivation to help others from perspective of the people who work in social care and those who do not. The goal of the theoretical part is to find out if people?s help to the others is based on altruistic or egoistic reasons. Second goal is also to answer the question what are the motivations of people who work in social care and what are their motives. What is the correlation between motivation and working performance. The goal of practical part is to verify the hypothesis which are based on general understanding of motivations of the people working in social care. To test these hypothesis the qualitative research was performed. Target group of this research were people working in social care. There is also section in this part which describes the connection of this research and social pedagogy.
