The literary approach to witchcraft and witch trials of the Czech ethnography to 1989

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá způsoby, jakými bylo pojímáno čarodějnictví a čarodějnické procesy raného novověku českou etnografií a historiografií středoevropského osvícenství atd., do r. 1989 a uchopení normalizační etnografií a historiografií. Pro účely práce byly vymezeny tři paradigmatické rámce, v jejichž rámci je třeba zkoumat, jak byly čarodějnice aktuálně vnímány mezi obyčejným, zpravidla venkovským lidem, a jak bylo přistupováno k procesům s čarodějnicemi odbornou veřejností, a to nejdříve odbornou veřejností národního obrození, dále prvorepublikovým národopisem a rovněž badateli po Únoru 1948, to vše v porovnání s názorem, který ohledně problematiky mají čeští badatelé v současnosti. Tohoto cíle bude dosaženo komparativní obsahovou analýzou, zaměřenou na základní konceptuální podloží a hlavní argumentační rámce folkloristických a etnografických textů pro případ vnímání čarodějnic lidem, uchopení a reflexe procesů potom bude zkoumáno na dějepisných spisech.

Abstract:

The bachelors' thesis deals with the ways of comprehension of witchcraft and the witch trials of the early modern era by the Czech ethnography and historiography from the Central-European Enlightenment era, up until 1989 when it was examined by the normalisation ethnography and historiography. For the purposes of the research, three paradigmatic frameworks were identified, within which the approach of both the lay and the professional public to witchcraft in general and witch trials is examined, first of the professionals of the national revival, the ethnography of the 1st Czechoslovak republic and the ethnographers after the February 1948. This goal is to be reached by the comparative content analysis focused on the conceptual background and the most important argumentation frameworks of the folkloristic and ethnographic writings to examine the people's views of witchcraft, the comprehension and reflection of the trials is to be investigated in the history writings.
