Criminal activity of police officers

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou trestné činnosti příslušníků Policie České republiky. Teoretická část práce definuje základní pojmy týkající se daného tématu, dále se věnuje Generální inspekci bezpečnostních sborů, jakožto orgánu zabývajícím se odhalováním a vyšetřováním protiprávního jednání, kterého se dopustili příslušníci a zaměstnanci Policie ČR, Celní správy, Vězeňské služby a GIBS. Největší pozornost je věnována popisu nejčastěji páchaných trestných činů. V závěru teoretické části je charakterizovaná trestná činnost zaměstnanců PČR a nezbytná preventivní opatření. V praktické části jsou analyzována data protiprávního jednání policistů. Je zde obsažena komparace počtu trestně stíhaných příslušníků PČR s počtem trestně stíhaných obyvatel v ČR, porovnání počtu trestných činů s počtem trestně stíhaných policistů oproti předcházejícímu roku, dále pak vývoj počtu trestně stíhaných příslušníků a zaměstnanců PČR (někdy společně s jinými bezpečnostními sbory) podle věku, délky služby/práce u sboru a podle místa služebního/pracovního zařazení.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis deals with the crime commited by members of the Police of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts related to the topic; it also deals with the General Inspection of Security Corps as a body which reveals and investigates illegal actions of the members and staff of the Police of the Czech Republic, Customs Administration, Prison Service and the General Inspection of Security Corps. Most attention is paid to the description of the most frequently commited crimes. At the end of the theoretical part, criminal actions of the Police staff and necessary preventive measures are specified. In the practical part, data concerning police officers´ illegal behaviour are analysed. A comparison is provided of the number of prosecuted Police members with the number of prosecuted citizens of the Czech Republic, as well as a comparison of the number of criminal offenses with the number of prosecuted Police staff members compared to the previous year. The part also deals with the development of the number of prosecuted Police staff members (sometimes together with the other security corps) in relation to their age, lenght of service/work at the instituion and also to their work rank.
