The thesis studies a resistance group called „Žiar“ which operated in the mountain range of the same name during World War II in central Slovakia. In addition to analyzing the growth of resistance activities in this area towards the end of the war, the thesis also deals with some aspects of the post-war period (e.g. fate of the people from Žiar, perceptions of their own resistance activities). Práca sa zaoberá dejinami partizánskej skupiny Žiar, pôsobiacej počas 2. svetovej vojny v rovnomennom pohorí stredného Slovenska. Popri rozbore udalostí posledných vojnových rokov, súvisiacich s rozmachom odbojových aktivít v tomto priestore, sa práca vo vybraných aspektoch venuje i dobe povojnovej (osudy ľudí zo Žiaru, vnímanie ich odbojovej činnosti).
