Optimization of diffraction gratings and diffraction efficiency measurements.

Abstract:

Předložená práce je rozdělená na teoretickou a experimentální část. Teoretická část se zabývá difrakčními mřížkami. Nejprve popisuje typy, se kterými se v literatuře lze setkat, dále se zaměřuje na tenkou binární difrakční mřížku a fyzikální děje s ní spojené, zejména tedy difrakční účinnost, která je hlavním tématem práce. Teoretická část je pak uzavřená stručným přehledem vybraných technologií zápisu difrakčních mřížek a metodami sloužícími k popisu jejich struktury a vyhodnocení. Cílem experimentální části je vyhodnocení naměřených profilů vzorků difrakčních mřížek, softwarový výpočet difrakční účinnosti na základě teorie o tenké difrakční mřížce řešené pomocí transmitanční funkce a porovnání s experimentálním měřením na zařízení pro měření difrakční účinnosti mřížek. Závěrem jsou vyhodnoceny vzorky s nejlepší difrakční účinnosti a experiment je okomentován jako celek.

Abstract:

This thesis is divided into a theoretical and an experimental part. The theoretical part deals with diffraction gratings and describes the types which can be found in literature. Further it focuses on thin and binary diffraction gratings and its physical phenomena. The main topic of this thesis then becomes diffraction efficiency. Finally, the theoretical part mentions some picked diffraction grating writing technologies and methods for further analysis of the prepared structure and its evaluation. The aim of experimental part is an evaluation of measured sample profiles of diffraction gratings, comparison between software diffraction efficiency computation based on theory solved by transmittance function on thin grating with experimental diffraction efficiency data measured on custom made equipment. Selected samples with the best diffraction efficiency and the whole experiment is summarized and commented in the conclusion of this thesis.
