Luboš Ogoun and Ballet in Brno in 1960's

Abstract:

V této bakalářské práci jsou představeny dvě inscenace (Balada o námořníkovi a Hirošima) významného českého choreografa Luboše Ogouna, které byly vytvořeny pro Státní divadlo Brno v první polovině šedesátých let 20. století. Na základě jejich analýzy se práce snaží zachytit Ogounovy umělecké priority a choreografické tendence. Pro jejich důkladnější pochopení je celá práce orámována Ogounovými životopisnými údaji. Dále je věnován prostor kapitolám o brněnském souboru a jeho členech, jeho dramaturgii a repertoáru, a to v letech 1961 – 1964 a 1968 – 1970, tedy ve dvou obdobích Ogounova uměleckého vedení brněnského baletního souboru. Důležitou součástí práce je i kapitola Vize moderního tance pojmenovávající charakteristické znaky moderního tance nové vlny šedesátých let, jehož je Ogoun (spolu s Pavlem Šmokem) předním představitelem. V závěru jsou shrnuty nejpodstatnější rysy Ogounových choreografií, nastíněny skutečnosti, které jej při tvorbě ovlivňovaly a také přiblížení jeho tvůrčích i lidských zásad.

Abstract:

In my thesis I firstly focuse on two significant performances by choreographer Luboš Ogoun (The Ballad about sailor and Hirošima) which were staged in the State theatre Brno in the first half of the 1960´s. Based on their analyses, this work tries to give a portrait of Ogoun´s artistic priorities and determination. These matters partly stems from his life experience, education and influence of his masters. Therefore, Ogoun´s curriculum vitae is also included in this work. Consequently I deal with the repertory, dramaturgy and the corp de ballet of the State theatre Brno between the years 1961 and 1964, 1968 and 1970, in which periods Ogoun was in charge of the Brno´s corp de ballet. Considering Luboš Ogoun as one of the dancers of new wave of modern dance in Czechoslovakia in 1960´s, a chapter (Vision of modern dance) deals with the attributes and distinctiveness of this type of dance is included. In the conclusion, I attempt to give an account of the most important traits of Ogoun´s performances, dominances, factors that influenced him and his human principals, too.
