Predmetom diplomovej práce je objasnenie významu a podstaty dokumentárneho akreditívu. Prvá kapitola nás uvedie do problematiky platobných podmienok v zahraničnom obchode, ďalšie dve kapitoly sú venované teoretickým východiskám a jednotlivým druhom dokumentárnych akreditívov.
