The Rate of Fulfilment of Basic Psychological Needs in School Environment from the View of Upper-Primary School-Aged Children

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou naplňování základních psychických potřeb ve školním prostředí pohledem dětí staršího školního věku. Teoretická část práce se soustřeďuje na obecné vymezení pojmů týkající se této problematiky. Konkretizuje pojem škola a její prostředí, potřeba a základní členění potřeb a dále pak popisuje motivační teorii, která se zaměřuje na oblast autonomie, kompetence a vztahovosti. Praktická část představuje výsledky kvantitativního výzkumu, který se specifikuje na míru naplňování tří základních psychických potřeb vycházejících z autodeterminační teorie.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the issue of fulfilment of basic psychological needs in the school environment through the view of older school age children. The theoretical part of the thesis focuses on the general definition of the terms related to this issue. It concretizes the term school and its environment, needs and basic division of needs and then it describes the motivational theory that focuses on the area of autonomy, competence and sense of belonging. The practical part presents the results of quantitative research that concentrates on the rate of the fulfilment of three basic psychological needs based on self-determination theory.
