Euclid: 25 Years of BOBCATSSS Conference

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce poskytuje ucelený přehled o konferenci BOBCATSSS a její zaštiťující organizaci EUCLID. Hlavním cílem práce je zmapování historie a podmínek vzniku Euclidu a následně i konference, dále historického vývoje organizace se zaměřením na její aktivity, financování či současnou situaci. V práci se také nachází rozbor dalších organizací a konferencí v oboru knihovnictví a informační vědy, díky čemuž je možné jednotlivé části práce srovnávat. Vedlejším cílem práce je zjistit, jak se obsah konference v průběhu let proměňoval, což je zajištěno provedením frekvenční analýzy klíčových slov a kategorií ze sborníků let 2009–2018. V rámci tohoto cíle práce také představuje analýzu států, která poskytne základní představu o tom, které státy publikovaly v rámci konference nejvíce.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the BOBCATSSS conference and its umbrella organization EUCLID. The main aim of the thesis is to map the history and conditions of EUCLID's origin and subsequently the conference, as well as the historical development of the organization with a focus on its activities, financing or current situation. The thesis also includes an analysis of other professional organizations and conferences in the field of library and information science, which makes it possible to compare individual parts of the work. The secondary aim of the thesis is to find out how the content of the conference has changed over the years, which is done by performing frequency analysis of keywords and categories from the 2009–2018 proceedings. As part of this goal, the thesis also presents an analysis of states that will provide a basic idea of which countries have published the most in the conference.
